Job summary

Evident Change seeks a Senior Accountant to join our accounting team. In this role, you will lead critical accounting functions, including monthly and year‑end close activities, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, project and contract accounting, audit support, and accounting systems administration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field.
• At least five years of progressively responsible general accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Experience with month-end close, financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger accounting.
• Experience reviewing and supporting AP, AR, and payroll accounting processes.
• Understanding of revenue recognition principles.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Understanding of internal controls, segregation of duties, and fraud-prevention practices.

Evident Change seeks a senior accountant to join our accounting team. In this role, you will lead critical accounting functions, including monthly and year‑end close activities, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, project and contract accounting, audit support, and accounting systems administration. Working closely with the Director of Finance, you will help strengthen financial operations, improve processes, and provide accurate financial information that supports organizational decision making.

Our Compensation and Benefit Offerings

The national average salary for this position ranges between $89,750 and $99,500 per year. Compensation within this range is dependent on experience, parity with peers, and where an employee lives.

• At least five years of progressively responsible general accounting experience.

• Demonstrated experience with month‑end close, financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger accounting.
• Experience reviewing and supporting AP, AR, and payroll accounting processes.

• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills.
• Ability to independently research and resolve complex accounting issues.li>
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a remote work environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Understanding of internal controls, segregation of duties, and fraud‑prevention practices.

Additional assets a candidate may possess include the following.

• Experience working within nonprofit, project‑based, grant‑funded, or government‑contract accounting environments.
• Experience supporting annual financial statement audits.
• Sage Intacct experience.
• Experience improving, automating, or streamlining accounting processes and reporting workflows.
• Experience working with project managers and non‑financial staff to communicate financial information effectively.
