Job summary

Purpose Brands is seeking a Senior Accountant to support monthly close, revenue recognition, and financial reporting for a multi-brand fitness organization. The role emphasizes strong GAAP knowledge, complex reconciliations, and collaboration across brands.

The Senior Accountant will manage payroll entries and accruals, fixed asset oversight, intercompany journal entries, and variance analysis, while contributing to internal controls and process improvements in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of private or public accounting experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Advanced knowledge of Excel
• Experience with month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations
• Familiarity with financial statements (I/S, B/S, Cash Flow) and related footnotes
• Solid understanding of general ledger functions and close processes

Responsibilities

• Payroll and benefits entries and accruals
• Manages CIP and fixed assets across all brands
• Prepares journal entries, including intercompany transactions and departmental allocations
• Analyzes and reconciles complex balance sheet and income statement accounts
• Maintains the general ledger and ensures timely, accurate trial balances
• Prepares and explains actual vs. budget variance analysis
• Performs account reconciliations and supports month-end reporting
• Assists with financial and tax audits
• Contributes to process improvements, policies, and internal control initiatives
• Supports the Accounting Manager with ad hoc tasks and projects
