Job summary

EOG Resources in Ohio seeks an experienced cost accountant to develop a well‑rounded knowledge of the Company's operations, cost accounting processes, and COPAS guidelines, with emphasis on capital and operating expenditures, lease accounting, data analysis, and cost allocation.

The role analyzes capital spend, prepares monthly and quarterly journal entries for cost allocations and accruals, accumulates data for reporting, reconciles the general ledger, and identifies process improvements to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred; CPA is a plus.
• 5+ years of oil and gas industry accounting experience with a concentration in operations accounting preferred
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• Excellent communications skills
• Strong familiarity and working knowledge of COPAS operating agreements
• Highly self-motivated with ability to multi‑task and meet rigorous deadlines
• Requires accuracy and strong analytical skills
• Proficient knowledge of Windows, Excel, and Word
• Knowledge of AS400 system, MS Query, or SQL a plus

Job description

This position will entail developing a well‑rounded knowledge of the Company's operations, cost accounting processes and systems, and COPAS accounting guidelines with particular emphasis on capital and operating expenditures, lease accounting, data analysis, and cost allocation. It will encompass the following:

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred, CPA is a plus. A Bachelor's degree in related business field with a minimum of 18 hours of accounting will be considered.
