Our client is a growing luxury vacation rental management company seeking a Senior Accountant to take ownership of its day-to-day accounting operation.
This is a senior, hands-on role with significant responsibility and direct exposure to company leadership. You will take over responsibilities currently handled by leadership and an outside accountant, inherit clean books and established processes, and have the opportunity to improve and document workflows as the company continues to grow.
The role also includes helping establish accounting processes within TopKey, a new system currently being implemented.
This position reports directly to company leadership and has no direct reports.
The beginning of each month is a critical part of this position.
On the 1st, the accounting process includes closing out bookings and expenses, allocating owner expenses, paying cleaners and part-time workers, preparing sales tax and tourist development tax payments, completing owner statements, and processing owner distributions.
Some work can be prepared in advance, but much of the close must begin first thing on the 1st and be completed by the end of that day or early the following day. Owners expect prompt and accurate statements and payments, so consistently meeting this deadline is an important part of the role.
This is a full-time position averaging approximately 40–45 hours per week, with flexibility outside of critical accounting deadlines.
The position requires working from the Miramar Beach office at least 1 day per week. Availability first thing on the 1st of each month is required to complete the monthly close.
