Commercial Tool Group in Comstock Park, MI is seeking a Senior Accountant to partner with the Controller to keep the financial engine running fast, accurate, and audit-ready so leaders can make confident decisions.

Your day-to-day includes driving the month-end close (inventory, gross margin, GL reconciliations, revenue recognition), bank reconciliations, liens filings, audit support, cash activity tracking, and managing fixed assets in Epicor and ProSys with intercompany billings.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years in financial accounting.
• Strong Excel/Office skills; Epicor ERP experience preferred.
• Detail-driven, organized, and able to communicate effectively with team.

Responsabilités

• Complete monthly bank reconciliations and post bank adjustments.
• Prepare, file, and maintain UCC liens per company guidelines.
• Support CFO/Controller with annual audit schedules and follow-through.
• Maintain cash activity tracking and assist with online banking approvals/voids.
• Maintain fixed assets in Epicor and ProSys; update intercompany billings.

The Impact Role

As Senior Accountant, you’ll partner closely with the Controller to keep CTG’s financial engine running fast, accurate, and audit-ready—so leaders can make confident decisions.

Key responsibilities:

• Drive month-end close: inventory calculations, sales gross margin reporting, GL analysis/reconciliations, revenue recognition reporting, and journal entries for monthly statements


• Complete monthly bank reconciliations and post bank adjustments


• Prepare, file, and maintain UCC liens per company guidelines


• Support the CFO/Controller with annual audit schedules and request follow-through


• Maintain cash activity tracking and assist with online banking approvals/voids as directed


• Maintain fixed assets in Epicor and ProSys; update intercompany billings

Required skills/experience:

• 5–7 years in financial accounting; Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance (or equivalent experience)


• Strong Excel/Office skills; Epicor ERP experience preferred


• Detail-driven, organized, and effective communicator; able to work independently and with a team

You’ll shift between focused desk time in Excel/Epicor and quick check-ins that unblock answers fast. Some moments are heads-down—tying out reports, validating numbers, and keeping documentation tight—while others are high-velocity collaboration with finance leaders as priorities change. As deadlines approach, you’ll feel the thrill of turning complex activity into clean, decision-ready insight, then wrapping up with a plan for what’s next.
