Pueo Business Solutions LLC in McLean, VA is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the accounting team across the full lifecycle in a government contracting environment.

You will manage month-end close, payroll, reconciliations, and financial reporting while ensuring GAAP, FAR, and DCAA compliance. Proficiency with Unanet and advanced Excel is required, with strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsabilités

  • Provide comprehensive support across the accounting lifecycle, including daily operations, month-end close, and financial reporting with a government contracting focus.
  • Manage daily cash flow, bank reconciliations, and account monitoring.
  • Process payroll in compliance with federal, state, and contractual requirements; ensure timely filings.
  • Lead month-end close activities with reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements.
  • Ensure GAAP and FAR compliance; monitor inquiry responses.
  • Develop and improve SOPs for accounting processes.
  • Assist with tax planning, audits, and coordination of annual audits.
  • Reconcile time/expense entries between internal systems and partner platforms.

Pueo has a Senior Accountant position in the McLean, VA office.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive support to the accounting team across all phases of the accounting lifecycle, including daily operations, month-end close, and financial reporting, with a strong focus on compliance and accuracy in a government contracting environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily cash flow activities, including bank reconciliations and account monitoring.
  • Perform full-cycle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
  • Process payroll in compliance with federal, state, and contractual requirements; ensure timely and accurate quarterly and annual filings.
  • Lead month-end close activities, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and preparation of financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR).
  • Monitor and respond to inquiries from the accounting inbox in a timely and professional manner.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) for accounting processes.
  • Assist with tax planning, preparation, and coordination of annual audits.
  • Reconcile time and expense entries between internal systems and partner platforms, resolving discrepancies as needed.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding processes for employees and contractors within the accounting system, ensuring proper documentation and protocol adherence.
  • Support budget development, forecasting, and ongoing budget monitoring.
Other:
  • Assist in accounting needs of affiliated entities.
  • Support ad-hoc data calls
  • Register and maintain state business licenses and payroll tax accounts.
  • Assist in incurred cost submission and provisional bill rates development

  • Working knowledge of GAAP, FAR and DCAA compliance.
  • Experience with Unanet Skills
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial reporting tools.

  • Minimum 5 Years of Experience in Accounting/Finance Role
  • Minimum 2 Years of Experience in Government Contracting
  • Minimum 2 Years of Experience in Payroll Processing
  • Unanet Financial Experience – Intermediate User
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Experience supporting audits and tax filings is a plus.
