Qualifications

  • 4-7 years' experience in related field required.
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead month-end close for multiple entities and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Maintain detailed balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
  • Ensure financial statements are GAAP-compliant and complete.
  • Prepare audit schedules and support auditors, tax providers, and internal reviews.
  • Assist with documentation and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Apply guidance related to inventory, fixed assets, leases, reserves, and intercompany transactions as per GAAP.
  • Utilize and support County Materials' ERP system (Infor) and related reporting tools.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and consistency in accounting processes.
  • Assist with system enhancements, reporting automation, and process standardization.
  • Support special projects, including acquisitions, integrations, plant startups, and process changes.

We're hiring a Senior Accountant to join County Materials in Marathon, WI.

Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant is a key contributor to County Materials' accounting and financial reporting function, supportingaccuratefinancial statements across a multi-entity, manufacturing environment. This roleis responsible forcomplex general ledger activities, monthly close execution, account reconciliations, andcross-functionalaccounting support relatedto operations. The Senior Accountant partners closely with Finance leadership, FP&A,and plant managementto ensuretimely,accurate, and actionable financial information.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Month-End Close & Financial Reporting:
  • Execute and support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process for multiple legal entities
  • Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations and investigate/resolution of variances
  • Ensure financial statements areaccurate, complete, and preparedin accordance withGAAP
  • Support internal management reporting and ad hoc financial analysis
Technical Accounting, Controls & Compliance:
  • Prepare audit schedules and support external auditors, tax providers, and internal reviews
  • Assistwith documentation and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures
  • Apply accounting guidance related to inventory, fixed assets, leases, reserves, and intercompany transactionsin accordance withGAAP
Systems, Processing Improvements & Projects:
  • Utilize and support County Materials' ERP system (Infor) and related reporting tools
  • Identifyopportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and consistency in accounting processes
