About Evolv CFO

Evolv CFO is a fractional CFO company that partners with growing businesses ($1MM+ revenue) to provide strategic financial guidance without the full-time executive cost. We serve as an extension of our clients' finance teams, delivering everything from tactical accounting support to strategic budgeting and forecasting. Our clients span multiple industries and range from $1MM to $60MM in annual revenue.

The Opportunity

We're seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our growing team as a key bridge between our fractional CFO services and day-to-day accounting operations. This role is perfect for a detail-oriented accounting professional who wants to make a strategic impact while developing client-facing skills in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

Quality Assurance & Process Management

  • Review financial reports, reconciliations, and deliverables for accuracy and completeness before client delivery
  • Identify red flags, inconsistencies, and potential issues across all client accounts
  • Develop and maintain standardized processes and checklists to ensure consistent, high-quality work
  • Coordinate month-end close processes and ensure timely completion of all client deliverables
  • Create and implement quality control procedures to catch errors before they impact clients
  • Monitor key performance indicators and client satisfaction metrics
  • Establish workflow processes that support efficient team collaboration
  • Take initiative to anticipate client needs and potential issues before they arise
  • Proactively identify process improvements and implement solutions independently

Team Leadership & Development

  • Provide day-to-day management, guidance, and performance feedback to bookkeeping staff
  • Train team members on best practices, error prevention, and standardized procedures
  • Coordinate workload distribution across multiple client accounts to ensure efficient completion
  • Conduct regular check-ins and provide ongoing coaching to develop team capabilities
  • Create training materials and documentation to support consistent service delivery
  • Foster a collaborative team environment focused on continuous improvement
  • Manage staff scheduling and capacity planning across client engagements

Client Support & Coordination

  • Handle routine client communications, questions, and requests professionally and promptly
  • Support the CFO in client meetings by preparing agendas, materials, and tracking action items
  • Serve as a backup resource during client calls to document commitments and ensure follow-through
  • Maintain organized client files and ensure all deliverables are completed as promised
  • Coordinate between clients and internal team members to resolve issues efficiently
  • Build trusted relationships with client contacts while supporting the primary CFO relationship
  • Manage client expectations and communicate proactively about timelines and deliverables

Technical Accounting

  • Perform reconciliations and identify accounting discrepancies
  • Escalate complex technical accounting questions to the CFO for guidance
  • Ensure basic compliance with accounting standards and best practices
Qualifications

What We're Looking For

Required Experience & Skills

  • 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience with strong bookkeeping foundation
  • Demonstrated experience with month-end close processes and financial statement preparation
  • Expert-level reconciliation skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Online (QBO Pro Advisor certification preferred)
  • Advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills
  • Experience working with multiple clients or in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • NetSuite experience
  • Experience in a CPA firm, or similar multi-client environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Familiarity with various accounting software platforms and tech stacks
  • Experience training or mentoring junior accounting staff
