Job summary

Cherry Bekaert LLP is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to handle the accounting for 25 real estate entities. The role reports to the CFO and Chairman and requires strong analytical skills and proficiency in Sage 100.

The position involves rent payments, payroll processing, and detailed financial reporting. Office presence is required at least four days per week in Leesburg, VA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred.
• 5+ years accounting experience required.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, payroll, taxes, and reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Manage all accounting for 25 real estate entities.
• Process rent payments and manage payables.
• Prepare cash and investment reporting.
• Perform bank reconciliations with positive pay controls.
• Handle accounts payable in Sage 100.
• Process timesheets and payroll and file payroll taxes.
• Record journal entries and produce financial statements via Sage 100.
• Reconcile GL across related entities and handle inter-company invoicing.
• Prepare quarterly tax projections.

Responsibilities

• All accounting functions for 25 separate real estate entities
• Rent payment processing
• Cash and investment reporting
• Bank reconciliations and account monitoring with positive pay
• Invoice processing and accounts payable through Sage 100
• Time sheet processing, payroll processing, and payroll tax filings
• Journal entries and financial reporting through Sage 100
• GL accountant reconciliations between related entities
• Inter-company invoices and reconciliations
• Quarterly tax projections

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance highly preferred
• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, payroll, taxes, and reconciliations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range $80,000 – $100,000 depending on experience. Competitive benefits including medical, dental, and paid time off. This position requires being in the office at least 4 days per week.
