Job summary

American Commercial Barge Line (ACBL) is seeking a Senior Accountant to own the integrity of financial records and drive informed business decisions. You will post journal entries, reconcile ledgers, and prepare balance sheets and complex reports to forecast performance and guide strategy.

The role requires 3–5 years of accounting experience, proficiency with MS Office and Oracle, and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. This is an on-site, full-time position in Jeffersonville, IN.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• Competence in all financial and accounting principles and processes.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Oracle, and other financial systems.
• 3-5 Years of accounting competence.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post financial journal entries including intercompany eliminating entries.
• Review and analyze general ledger account balances.
• Verify accuracy of ledger entries and recommend corrections.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations and balance sheets.
• May mentor lower-level accountants.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
