Job summary

Solberg Manufacturing, a family-owned leader in industrial filtration and machinery protection, seeks a Senior Accountant to join our accounting team on-site in Itasca, IL. You will support daily financial operations, drive month-end close, and lead cost accounting and process improvements with a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience in manufacturing
• Strong cost accounting, BOMs, and inventory reconciliation knowledge
• Ability to drive process improvements and bring in fresh ideas
• Tech-savvy with ERP systems, Excel, and automation tools
• Longevity and stability in prior roles; team-oriented mindset and ability to be a go-to leader

Responsibilities

• Oversee month-end close, bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, and journal entries
• Prepare and analyze financial statements for accuracy and compliance
• Lead invoice auditing and support AP/AR oversight
• Support cost accounting functions – standard costing, PPV, and inventory reconciliation
• Work with BOMs to ensure costing accuracy and ERP data integrity
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize ERP (D365 a plus)

As we continue to grow, we are adding a Senior Accountant to our accounting team to support financial operations and enhance processes. This is a newly created role, offering the chance to step in as a go-to leader (without direct management responsibilities) and play a key role in financial reporting, standard costing, and process improvements.

Your Role: Senior Accountant

As a Senior Accountant, you will be a key player in our accounting and finance team, supporting daily financial operations and driving efficiencies. You’ll work closely with the Accounting Manager, Staff Accountant, and clerks to ensure accurate reporting, strong controls, and continuous improvement in processes.

• Oversee month-end close, bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, and journal entries
• Prepare and analyze financial statements for accuracy and compliance
• Lead invoice auditing and support AP/AR oversight
• Support cost accounting functions – standard costing, purchase price variance (PPV), and inventory reconciliation
• Work with Bill of Materials (BOMs) and ensure costing accuracy
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize ERP (D365 experience a plus!)

What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years of accounting experience (preferably in manufacturing)
