Solutions Driven is recruiting on behalf of an aerospace and defence distribution business for a Senior Accountant in Irvine, CA. The role owns daily accounting operations, closes, and analytics across customer and vendor data, partnering with teams with a collaborative approach.

Ideal candidates will have 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, inventory-led industry exposure, and strong Excel/ERP skills. CPA designation or international equivalent is considered an asset.

• Advanced Excel skills: pivots, index/match/xlookup.
• ERP implementation or improvement experience is an asset.

Responsabilités

• Manage day-to-day accounting: AP, AR, cash, and bank reconciliations.
• Apply customer payments; post disbursements to the correct AP/liability accounts.
• Prepare and approve weekly disbursements; code and manage credit card reporting.
• Support month-end and year-end close (journal entries, accruals, prepaids, intercompany).
• Prepare month-end balance sheet reconciliations; assist with audits as needed.

Job Description

Senior Accountant who can own daily accounting operations and higher-level accounting work. You'll manage high-volume transactions, drive accurate and timely closes, and be our go-to for accounting and customer/vendor analysis. If you love digging into large datasets, building clean reconciliations, and partnering across the business with a collaborative, empathetic approach, this is for you.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting: AP, AR, cash, and bank reconciliations.
• Apply customer payments; post disbursements to the correct AP/liability accounts.
• Manage trade credit, including extension and credit holds.
• Prepare and approve weekly disbursements.
• Code and manage credit card reporting.
• Maintain and improve high-volume transaction processing with strong control discipline.
• Support month-end and year-end close (prepare/review journal entries, accruals, prepaids, intercompany, etc.).
• Prepare and reconcile Journal Entries; build and maintain corporate schedules (leases, debt, excise tax, etc.).
• Assist with audit requests and deliverables (external and internal).
• Manage, reconcile and report on sales taxes.
• Prepare month-end balance sheet reconciliations.
• Work with large datasets; use Excel (pivot tables, lookups) to reconcile, analyze, and explain results.
• Strengthen ERP usage and reporting; support ERP enhancements/implementations and process automation.
• Support annual budget and periodic budget reforecast process as needed.
• Perform ad-hoc KPI reporting and customer invoice/statement reporting.

Competencies/Qualifications

• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience (public audit background a plus); inventory-led industry experience is a must.
• Advanced Excel (pivots, index/match/xlookup, modeling).
• ERP proficiency (implementation or improvement experience is an asset).
• CPA designation (or international equivalent) is an asset.
• Acquisition experience is an asset.
• Strong work ethic, self-starter, and well organized.
