Job summary

Confidential is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. This role oversees general accounting operations, ensures GAAP compliance, supports financial reporting, and assists with audits.

You will prepare journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close, analyze variances, and help improve accounting processes. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 5 years of experience required; CPA preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience in food manufacturing, CPG, or distribution.
  • Strong US GAAP knowledge and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and advanced Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and company policies.
  • Assist month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Analyze financial data and variances to provide insights.

Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. This role is responsible for overseeing general accounting operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP, supporting financial reporting, and assisting with audits. The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in maintaining financial accuracy and contributing to process improvements across the organization.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.

  • Assist with the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
  • Analyze financial data and variances to provide actionable insights.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation.
  • Assist in developing and implementing accounting policies and process improvements.
  • Prepare sales tax filings, property tax filings, and other regulatory reports as needed.

Preferred Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA or progress toward

  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, and general ledger functions.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving ability with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
