Job summary

Electric Hydrogen, based in Devens, MA, seeks a Senior Accountant to drive the monthly close, financial reporting, and integrity of accounting records. You’ll partner with teams across the organization to scale processes and support growth, reporting to the Accounting Manager and working onsite.

The role requires 3–5 years in accounting, strong GAAP knowledge, and proficiency with Excel; experience with Dynamics 365 and Coupa is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and month-end close processes
  • Experience with accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger accounting
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (XLOOKUP, PivotTables, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience supporting external audits is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Prepare month-end close journal entries, including accruals, ERP integrations, Brex credit card activity, and lease accounting
  • Execute month-end close procedures for timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Reconcile worldwide cash accounts and prepare cash reporting
  • Own the fixed asset accounting process, including reviewing capex and maintaining the ERP fixed asset register
  • Prepare and maintain prepaid expense schedules
  • Manage vendor deposit accounting and AP processes
  • Prepare intercompany reconciliations and cross-charge submissions
  • Review and approve purchase requisitions within Coupa
  • Support monthly variance analysis and actual vs. budget reporting
  • Assist with annual external audits and documentation
  • Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen internal controls
  • Participate in system implementations and cross-functional projects
  • Prepare KPIs, management reports, and ad hoc analyses
  • Support additional journal entries and accounting projects

Job description

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our growing Finance team. In this role, you will play a key part in the monthly close process, financial reporting, and maintaining the integrity of our accounting records. You will partner cross‑functionally with teams across the organization to support operational excellence while helping to build scalable accounting processes that support Electric Hydrogen's continued growth. You will be based onsite at our Devens, MA facility and report to the Accounting Manager.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Prepare month‑end close journal entries, including monthly accruals, ERP integrations, Brex credit card activity, and lease accounting
  • Execute month‑end close procedures to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
  • Reconcile worldwide cash accounts and prepare cash reporting while partnering with Accounts Payable and other internal departments
  • Own the fixed asset accounting process, including reviewing capital expenditures, maintaining the ERP fixed asset register, collaborating with department leaders, and supporting physical inventory counts
  • Prepare and maintain prepaid expense schedules, including prepaid insurance and other qualifying prepaid assets
  • Manage vendor deposit accounting by reviewing project purchase orders and partnering with project owners and Accounts Payable to ensure accurate accounting treatment
  • Prepare intercompany reconciliations and process cross‑charge submissions
  • Review and approve purchase requisitions within Coupa from an accounting perspective
  • Support monthly variance analysis and actual versus budget reporting
  • Assist with annual external audits by preparing schedules and supporting documentation
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and strengthen internal controls
  • Participate in system implementations and cross‑functional special projects
  • Prepare KPIs, management reports, and ad hoc financial analyses
  • Support additional journal entries and accounting projects as business needs evolve
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and month‑end close processes
  • Experience with accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger accounting
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently in a fast‑paced environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail while maintaining awareness of broader business objectives
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including XLOOKUP, PivotTables, and other advanced functions
  • Willingness to contribute beyond defined responsibilities to support the needs of a growing business
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is a plus
  • Experience using Coupa procurement and requisition systems is a plus
  • Experience supporting external audits is a plus
  • Experience working in a high‑growth manufacturing, technology, or clean energy environment is a plus
  • Experience with ERP implementations or system integrations is a plus
Compensation and Benefits

MA Zone

$95,000—$110,000 USD

Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job‑related skills, as well as relevant education or training and experience.

Base salary is just one part of Electric Hydrogen’s total rewards package. We feel strongly that our team should not have to worry about having quality healthcare. In addition to the base salary offered, the hired applicant may receive:
