Job summary

Hannibal-Regional-Healthcare-System is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage complex general ledger functions, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial analysis within a hospital setting. You will support budgeting, audit preparation, and financial reporting while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

The role requires five years of progressive accounting experience (healthcare preferred) and strong communication with all levels of management and staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business is required.
• Five years of progressive accounting experience required; healthcare or acute care hospital experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, month-end close processes, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and financial analysis.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial information, identify trends and variances, and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited supervision and exercise sound judgment.
• Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and staff.
• Ability to interpret and apply accounting principles, policies, and procedures.
• Knowledge of hospital financial operations, including budgeting, reimbursement, and cost accounting, preferred.
