Job summary

BAMF Health, Inc. in Grand Rapids, MI seeks a Senior Accountant to support accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting. This high-visibility role partners across functions to manage close processes, revenue recognition, capital projects, and audits.

You will prepare monthly closes, analyze complex transactions, build reports, and drive internal controls with a focus on GAAP and ASC 606. Experience with Workday is preferred; CPA is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
• Experience with month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement prep.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and applying guidance to complex transactions.
• Experience with ASC 606 and revenue recognition.
• Experience with Workday is preferred.
• Healthcare/biotech or regulated environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly close activities, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Analyze revenue recognition for multi-element contracts and related reconciliations.
• Build and maintain reports, test system changes, and apply automation/AI tools.
• Review customer contracts to determine GAAP treatment for revenue recognition.
• Support accounts receivable and contract-to-cash processes and aging analyses.
• Lead accounting for capital projects, audits, and internal controls.

Supports complex accounting activities, including close processes, financial statement preparation, reconciliations, and accounting for complex revenue arrangements. Working cross-functionally, the Senior Accountant drives accurate and timely close, financial reporting, audit readiness, and GAAP compliance, with key focus areas including month-end close, revenue recognition, accounts receivable and contract-to-cash activities, capital projects, and delivering financial insights that support strategic decision-making. **Duties and Responsibilities, including but not limited to:*** Prepare monthly close activities, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions and resolution of reconciling items* Prepare and analyze journal entries for revenue recognition, multi-element contracts, accruals, prepaids, intercompany transactions, and other key financial activities* Build and maintain reports, test system changes, and apply automation and AI tools to reduce manual effort and improve accuracy* Review customer contracts and amendments to determine proper GAAP treatment for revenue recognition, deferred revenue, and related accounting* Support accounts receivable and contract-to-cash processes, including aging reviews, reconciliations, issue resolution, and analysis of collection trends and reserves* Lead accounting for capital projects, including grants, incentives, fixed assets, depreciation, and disposals* Support external audits by responding to inquiries and preparing audit schedules, financial statements, and footnote disclosures* Analyze financial results, identify trends and variances, and provide recommendations to management* Drive process improvements and strengthen internal controls* Perform other related duties as required **Basic Qualifications:*** Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Accounting or related field required* Experience with month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, balance sheet analysis, and financial statement preparation required* Strong working knowledge of GAAP, including experience applying accounting guidance to complex transactions required* Experience with ASC 606, including accounting for complex revenue arrangements, multi-element contracts, revenue recognition, deferred revenue, and related reconciliations required **Preferred Qualifications:*** 3 years of progressive professional accounting experience required; public accounting experience preferred* Experience with multi-entity structures and consolidated financial reporting preferred* Hands-on experience with Workday (e.g., general ledger, customer contracts, capital projects, intercompany, and reporting) strongly preferred* Experience leveraging AI tools and automation to improve accounting workflows, analysis, or reporting, consistent with company data and security policies preferred* Experience supporting accounts receivable and contract-to-cash processes, including aging analysis, reserves, and issue resolution preferred* Experience preparing accounting memos, implementing policies and procedures, and supporting internal controls and external audits preferred* Experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or other regulated environments preferred* Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred**Schedule Details:*** Employment Status: Full time (1.0 FTE)* Hours of work: 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.* Days worked: Monday - Friday At BAMF Health, our top priority is patient care.
