Job summary

Vaco is searching for a Senior Accountant in Fort Worth, TX, to manage full-cycle accounting and support technical areas such as lease accounting, revenue recognition, and warranty reserves.

You will mentor a junior accountant and collaborate with finance and operations to improve cost insights and reporting accuracy using NetSuite and AI-assisted workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Exposure to cost accounting, inventory accounting, or operational accounting.
• Solid understanding of general accounting principles and full-cycle accounting processes.
• Experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Experience with lease accounting, revenue recognition, and warranty reserves.
• Exposure to SOX-controlled environments within a publicly traded company.
• CPA or progress toward CPA certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute full-cycle accounting activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close processes.
• Prepare and analyze financial information to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
• Support technical accounting activities related to lease accounting, revenue recognition, and warranty reserve calculations.
• Partner with operational teams to analyze manufacturing costs, identify variances, and provide insight into financial performance.
• Assist with internal controls, SOX compliance, and documentation of accounting procedures.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting efficiencies, and overall operational effectiveness.
• Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to a junior accountant.
• Leverage NetSuite and emerging AI-driven technologies to improve accounting processes and workflows.

The Senior Accountant will play an integral role in the company's accounting operations, supporting the full-cycle accounting function while partnering closely with finance and operational leadership. In addition to core accounting responsibilities, this individual will serve as a resource and mentor to a junior accountant, helping support the team's continued development and growth.
