Job summary

Muckleroy & Falls is seeking a Senior Accountant in Fort Worth to strengthen our accounting operations and provide accurate financial reporting. You will own key close processes, assist with cash management, and partner with Project Accounting to monitor job costs and WIP.

This role drives analysis and improvements across the finance function. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting, 3–7 years of experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and proficiency in Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• Approximately 3–7 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong GAAP, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close.
• Experience preparing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.
• Strong Excel, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Viewpoint Vista or ERP systems.
• Construction accounting experience is a plus, but not required.
• CPA or CPA-track experience is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and cross-department collaboration.
• Proactive, detail-oriented approach with ownership and follow-through.

Responsibilities

• Own key accounting processes: journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and month-end adjustments.
• Support cash management: cash reconciliations, cash flow forecasting, and working capital reporting.
• Partner with Project Accounting and Operations to understand job costs, WIP, and project financial performance.
• Turn numbers into insights: budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis for leadership.
• Strengthen processes: improve financial controls, reporting, documentation, and accounting efficiency.
• Support audits, tax reporting, and other accounting requirements.
• Grow together: cross-train and develop the Accounting team.

What You'll Do

As our Senior Accountant, you'll play an important role in supporting M&F's financial operations, strengthening our accounting processes, and helping our team make informed business decisions.

• Own key accounting processes: Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and month-end adjustments while supporting an accurate and timely financial close.
• Support cash management: Assist with cash reconciliations, cash flow forecasting, and working capital reporting.
• Partner across the business: Collaborate with Project Accounting and Operations to understand job costs, work in progress (WIP), and project financial performance.
• Turn numbers into insights: Support budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis that helps leadership make informed decisions.
• Strengthen processes: Identify opportunities to improve financial controls, reporting, documentation, and accounting efficiency.
• Support compliance: Assist with audits, tax reporting, and other accounting requirements.
• Grow together: Share knowledge, cross-train, and help develop the capabilities of our Accounting team.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who brings strong accounting knowledge, curiosity, accountability, and a desire to continue learning.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• Approximately 3–7 years of progressive accounting experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close.
• Experience preparing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating accounting discrepancies.
• Strong Excel, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems required; Viewpoint Vista experience is a plus.
• Construction accounting experience is a plus, but not required.
• CPA or CPA-track experience is a plus, but not required.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
• A proactive, detail-oriented approach with a willingness to take ownership and follow through.
