You will play a hands-on role in ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and supporting audits and tax filings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, adjust, and document journal entries, meeting all monthly close deadlines and maintaining appropriate backup for audit purposes.
  • Maintain accurate detail for balance sheets, income statements, and related financial reports, ensuring they reflect the organization’s true financial position.
  • Serve as a point of contact for financial institutions, tax authorities, auditors, and internal stakeholders regarding accounting and reporting matters.
  • Prepare meaningful and timely financial reports that meet the needs of both internal leadership and external partners.
  • Support annual and quarterly audit processes by preparing schedules, workpapers, and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Research accounting issues, identify potential internal control improvements, and present recommendations to management.
  • Contribute to the preparation and filing of federal and state payroll tax returns, sales/use tax filings, corporate tax returns, and annual reports.
  • Participate in special projects and other assignments as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
  • 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience; public accounting background strongly preferred.
  • CPA license or parts passed highly desirable.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and familiarity with PeopleSoft Financials a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Highly organized self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
