Job description

Sewer Equipment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in overseeing financial activities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to the company's management.

We are looking for employees who can:

  • Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments
  • Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations
Responsibilities:
  • Intercompany accounting
  • Monthly and Quarterly ledger closings
  • Annual budget preparation and monthly variance analysis
  • Prepare and file various tax returns, including corporate income tax, sales tax, and property tax filings
  • Maintain and reconcile fixed asset and depreciation schedules
  • Create and update monthly Plant Book reports for upper management to support business decision-making
  • Ad hoc reporting
  • Assist with financial, bank, tax, and generally liability audits
  • Cross train with Controller and Director of Finance functions
  • Train, mentor, and help other accounting functions such as accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Aid in the preparation of internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system
  • Reconcile all asset and liability accounts monthly/quarterly/annually
  • Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
Essential Functions:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems

Education and Experience Profile:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or related industry
