Job description

Senior Accountant | Denver Metropolitan area | $85,000–$100,000 + Full Benefits

This is a hands‑on, high‑visibility Senior Accountant opportunity at a rapidly growing company where your technical accounting skills, cross‑functional curiosity, and desire to build something will be put to work in a role with a genuinely high ceiling. You will report directly to the Controller, gain meaningful visibility to executive leadership, and play a key role across the full accounting function— from month‑end close and inventory accounting to ERP optimization, acquisition integration, and financial planning support. The accounting team is small and tight‑knit by design, meaning everyone collaborates across functions, cross‑trains on other roles, and develops a breadth of experience that simply does not exist in larger, more siloed organizations. The company is growing fast, and the right person will be able to grow with it— the Controller has been explicit that this role carries a real long‑term path toward stepping into a Controller seat as the function evolves. This is a particularly strong fit for someone with solid industry experience in a manufacturing or inventory‑driven environment who is comfortable in a smaller company setting and thrives when given ownership and trust. If you are career‑driven, forward‑thinking, and genuinely eager to take on bigger responsibilities over time, this is a role worth your serious attention.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead month‑end close, maintain the general ledger, and ensure GAAP‑compliant financial reporting across the organization.
  • Perform balance sheet and inventory reconciliations with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, providing direction and review as needed.
  • Own inventory and cost accounting— tracking, analyzing, and reporting on cost drivers and variances.
  • Support ERP administration and optimization including workflow enhancements and automation initiatives.
  • Assist with audit preparation, tax support, and safeguarding the integrity of the company's books and records.
  • Support financial planning and analysis including cash flow reporting and adhoc reporting for management.
  • Assist with acquisition integration work as the company continues to grow.
  • Provide mentorship and oversight to junior accounting staff as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience with a demonstrated track record of career advancement.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and the ability to apply it independently in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Excel and comfort with ERP systems— willingness to learn and optimize new platforms is essential.
  • Comfortable working in a smaller company setting where wearing multiple hats and working collaboratively across functions is the norm.
  • Forward‑thinking, career‑driven, and genuinely eager to take on increasing responsibility over time.

Preferred Inventory and/or manufacturing industry experience— this is a meaningful differentiator given the scope of the role. Industry accounting experience preferred over a traditional public accounting background; smaller firm experience with compilation work is also relevant. Familiarity with a cloud‑based ERP system in a manufacturing or inventory environment. Prior involvement in acquisition integration activities.

Why you'll love working here

A genuine, stated path to Controller— the current Controller has been clear that this role is the pipeline, and the company's growth trajectory makes that timeline real.

A small, collaborative accounting team where cross‑training is the norm— you will develop a breadth of skills that a siloed, large‑company role simply cannot provide.

Broad scope across close, cost accounting, ERP optimization, FP&A support, and M&A integration— far more variety than a typical Senior Accountant position.

Strong, positive culture with flexibility around scheduling— overtime is modest and predictable, concentrated around close and audit periods.

  • 100% employer‑paid medical premiums for the employee— a standout benefit that reflects how this company takes care of its people.
  • Competitive base salary of $85,000–$100,000 with some flexibility for exceptional candidates, plus three weeks PTO and an excellent overall benefits package.
