Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage full-cycle accounting for SPVs and vehicle portfolios. You will ensure accuracy of records, perform reconciliations, and support compliance with US GAAP and internal controls.

The role is located in Cranberry Township, PA with a hybrid work schedule. The ideal candidate has a bachelor's in accounting/finance, 4+ years in finance or accounting, ERP experience, and CPA or equivalent preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP and internal control principles.
• 4+ years of experience in Finance or Accounting.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Experience with SPV accounting preferred.
• CPA or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting for SPV entities and vehicle portfolios from acquisition through disposition.
• Maintain SPV accounting records and reconcile to GL and operational systems.
• Ensure SPV transactions are segregated from parent and other entities.
• Prepare journal entries and monthly reconciliations; resolve discrepancies.
• Collaborate with teams to resolve accounting and operational issues.
• Support external audits and timely deliverables to auditors.
• Assist financial reporting, management reporting, and forecasting.
• Identify process improvements and document SOPs.
• Assist as requested by Accounting Manager and SVP.

About the role:

As a Senior Accountant, you will manage the full-cycle accounting and financial reporting activities for assigned Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) and vehicle portfolios throughout their lifecycle, from acquisition through disposition. You will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records, maintain entity-level accounting and reconciliations, and support compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and legal entity requirements. You will report to the Manager, Corporate Accounting, Global Accounting, Tax, and Business Services and be located at our Cranberry Township, PA location. Hybrid Work Schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the daily accounting for assigned entities and Special Purchased Vehicle portfolios from acquisition through disposition.
• Maintain accurate vehicle- level accounting records and ensure they reconcile to the general ledger and operational systems.
• Ensure SPV transactions are recorded and remain separate from the parent company and other legal entities.
• Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules for SPV related accounts. Perform monthly account reconciliations and investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Partner with Teams and teams to resolve any accounting and operational issues.
• Support the external audit activities ensuring the integrity and timeliness of deliverables to the auditor.
• Help with financial reporting, management reporting, external reporting and forecasting.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements in existing business practices and create standard operating procedures documentation
• Assist as requested in other financial and accounting activities as determined by the Accounting Manager and SVP of Global Accounting.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP and internal control principles
• 4+ years of experience in Finance or Accounting role.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Experience with SPV accounting preferred.
• CPA or equivalent preferred.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $90,000 to $112,500 per year.
