Job summary

Princeton Peak Advisory in Clark, NJ is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team. This hands-on role offers broad exposure to month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, audits, and day-to-day accounting operations.

The ideal candidate has 3-6+ years of progressive accounting experience, is detail-oriented, and capable of taking ownership in a fast-paced environment. This position provides growth within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 3-6+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close procedures.
  • Experience preparing account reconciliations and financial statements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain monthly account reconciliations and supporting workpapers including accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, and other balance sheet items.
  • Perform daily banking activities, maintain cash books, and complete bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly profit & loss statements and balance sheet reporting.
  • Manage ESOP depreciation schedules and related accounting.
  • Assist with year-end close, reconciliations, and supporting workpapers.
  • Participate in the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Prepare monthly rollforward schedules for the company's bank line of credit.
  • Provide backup support for the Accounting Manager/Controller during absences.
  • Support internal, external, and bank audits by gathering documentation and preparing requested financial information.
  • Record and reconcile intercompany transactions.
  • Prepare and file monthly and quarterly sales tax returns.
  • Assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain monthly account reconciliations and supporting workpapers including accrued and prepaid expenses, service contracts, occupancy, credit cards, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, freight, accounts payable, vacation accruals, utilities, tenant accounts, and other balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Perform daily banking activities, maintain cash books, and complete bank reconciliations across multiple bank accounts.
  • Prepare monthly profit & loss statements and balance sheet reporting.
  • Manage ESOP depreciation schedules and related accounting.
  • Assist with year-end close, reconciliations, and supporting workpapers.
  • Participate in the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Prepare monthly rollforward schedules for the company's bank line of credit.
