Position Overview

The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring the financial integrity and sustainability of Best Point’s programs. This position supports a wide range of accounting functions, enabling our educators, clinicians, and program leaders to focus on delivering life-changing services. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting skills, sound judgment, and a collaborative mindset, along with a commitment to accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and cash flow analysis to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Assist in preparing timely and accurate financial statements and internal reports
  • Conduct departmental financial analysis and KPI reporting to support informed decision-making
  • Prepare and reconcile grant and fund accounting entries
  • Develop grant budgets, enter grant data into required systems, and complete monthly grant billing
  • Reconcile accounts receivable, including billed and unbilled receivables, pledges, donations, and cash receipts
  • Assist with annual audits, budget development, and various tax filings
  • Ensure all internal and external reporting requirements are completed accurately, completely, and on time
  • Maintain financial data and systems related to accounting applications
  • Participate in ongoing training related to billing and financial systems
  • Collaborate with internal program teams and external partners to obtain documentation and support timely, accurate receivables
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and bi-annual financial reports
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Experience working with accounting and billing systems
  • Strong proficiency in spreadsheets and Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and exercise sound independent judgment
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
