Job summary

Strata Decision Technology is seeking a Senior Accountant to own month-end close, technical accounting, and core processes as the business scales. You will collaborate with the accounting team, FP&A, and business operations to ensure accurate financial reporting and robust controls.

In this role, you will mentor junior staff, support SOX compliance, and drive process improvements across NetSuite and related systems. Chicago, IL-based with a comprehensive benefits package and competitive salary.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of progressive accounting experience in a public accounting or corporate accounting role.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA or active CPA candidacy preferred
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, with hands-on experience in SOX compliance
• Experience with ERP systems, ideally NetSuite
• Strong Excel skills and comfort working with large datasets
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Process improvement mindset, someone who wants to make processes more efficient and effective

Responsibilities

• Maintain accounting policies and documentation, and support audit and review requests from internal and external auditors.
• Partner with billing, AR, and AP to resolve discrepancies and improve process controls.
• Identify process improvements and support system enhancements in NetSuite and other Accounting systems (Coupa, FloQast, Concur, Salesforce, and more).
• Support financial analysis and reporting for leadership, including variance explanations and financial statement disclosures.
• Mentor junior accounting staff and contribute to team process documentation.

About the Role

Strata Decision Technology is a fintech company in a growth phase, and we're looking for a Senior Accountant to strengthen our accounting function as the business scales. The role carries real ownership of month-end close, technical accounting, and core processes, and works closely with the accounting team, FP&A, and business operations.

Responsibilities

Estimated Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000

Actual salary will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, skill set and level of experience. This salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Strata also provides discretionary variable pay programs based on role.
