Job summary

CFS in Chicago, IL is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage GL for office, retail and multifamily properties and to support monthly close and lender reporting.

You will develop Yardi and real estate accounting skills in a sophisticated ownership environment, and contribute to CAM reconciliations, property budgets, and owner reporting.

This in-office role offers growth within a stable, fully integrated real estate organization with exposure to hospitality and shared office entities.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of accounting experience within commercial real estate.
• Knowledge of GAAP and tax accounting principles.
• Experience with Yardi and advanced Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger accounting for office, retail, and multifamily properties.
• Prepare financial statements, supporting schedules, and lender/owner reporting packages.
• Complete CAM and real estate tax reconciliations.
• Support monthly close, account reconciliations, and cash management activities.
• Manage tenant lease setup review, utility billings, and tenant chargeback processes.
• Assist with annual property budgets, loan compliance, and tenant improvement draw administration.
