Job summary

Aprio Talent Solutions in the western Chicago suburbs is seeking a Senior Accountant. This direct hire role reports to the VP & Controller and serves as a right-hand partner, owning treasury, fixed assets, AP, and subledger reconciliations, plus month-end close and audits support.

You will build KPI dashboards, improve processes, and collaborate with operations and finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and strong controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience supporting month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Hands-on experience with accounts payable, treasury, and operational accounting processes.
• ERP system experience; strong Excel and Office skills.
• Experience preparing journal entries and maintaining documentation.

Responsibilities

• Manage operational accounting across subledgers, including treasury, payroll, and fixed assets.
• Reconcile subledgers to the general ledger monthly.
• Prepare monthly journal entries, accruals, prepaid analyses, and bank reconciliations.
• Oversee treasury operations, procure-to-pay, and expense management.
• Monitor aged accounts payable, intercompany balances, refunds, and transfers.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to investigate discrepancies and improve processes.
• Maintain accounting controls to safeguard assets and reduce risk.
• Support audits, 1099 reporting, lease accounting, and accounting inquiries.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures.
• Build KPI reporting and analytical dashboards for management.

What You’ll Own
