Job summary

TIFIN, based in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a Senior Accountant to own day-to-day accounting operations across multiple portfolio companies. You will gain exposure to how the business runs and influence processes as the company scales.

The role offers real ownership beyond routine reporting, regular interaction with leadership, and the opportunity to contribute to audits, controls, and GAAP compliance while working from our Charlotte office five days a week.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of accounting experience with full close process.
• Experience supporting GAAP compliance and audits.
• Comfort in modern ERP systems such as NetSuite.

Responsibilities

• Run month-end and quarter-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial statements.
• Own day-to-day accounting execution (AR/AP) and ensure accuracy.
• Support internal controls and GAAP compliance and assist during audits.
• Collaborate with VP of Finance on reporting and analysis with leadership visibility.
• Work from the Charlotte office five days a week with the Exec team.

ROLE OVERVIEW

We're looking for someone to join our Charlotte team, owning day-to-day accounting operations and execution of our books for multiple portfolio companies. You'll have regular exposure to how the business actually runs, visibility into how financial decisions get made, and room to shape processes as we grows.

This is a great fit for someone a few years into their career who's ready for more ownership than a typical Senior Accountant seat usually offers. You won't be one of many accountants doing the same reports every month. You'll have real ownership, direct exposure to leadership, and a chance to grow into a bigger role as the company scales.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Run month-end and quarter-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial statements
• Take full ownership of day-to-day accounting execution including AR/AP, making sure nothing slips
• Support internal controls and GAAP compliance, and be a key contact during audits
• Work directly with the VP of Finance on reporting and analysis, with real visibility into leadership conversations and exposure across the business well beyond finance
• Work out of our Charlotte office five days a week, alongside the Executive team

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• 3-5+ years of accounting experience, including exposure to a full close process, ideally in a startup environment
• MS in Accounting, MBA, and/or CPA preferred
• Solid US GAAP knowledge and books that would hold up to an audit
• Comfort working in a modern ERP or accounting system (we use NetSuite)
• Experience working through an external audit from the company side
• The ability to take things and run with them, without needing a lot of hand holding

COMPENSATION

$100,000 - 125,000 USD, competitive and appropriate to experience level
