Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a Senior Accountant in Carlsbad, CA to analyze financial performance, support month-end close, and partner with operations teams in a fast-paced environment.

The role combines accounting, financial reporting, profitability analysis, and operational support, with opportunities to improve processes and automate workflows while contributing to audits and budgeting efforts. This is a permanent, onsite position offering cross-functional exposure.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience in roles such as Senior Accountant, Property/Project/Cost Accountant.
• Experience preparing and reviewing P&L statements.
• Thorough experience with month-end close, journal entries, and credit card reconciliations.
• Experience reviewing expenses, receipts, invoices, and account activity.
• Strong Excel skills including Pivot Tables and lookup functions.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and reporting packages
• Support month-end close activities including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
• Analyze profitability and financial performance across business operations
• Review expenses, invoices, and supporting documentation for accuracy and proper coding
• Manage corporate credit card reconciliations and investigate outstanding transactions
• Research discrepancies and resolve accounting issues independently
• Analyze large datasets in Excel to support reporting and decision-making
• Partner with internal teams to provide financial insight and operational support
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Support audits and maintain accurate accounting records
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, and efficiency
• Assist with accounting system enhancements and automation initiatives

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $95000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
