Job summary

Ameri-Kart, a Myers Industries Company, seeks a skilled accountant to join our finance team in Bristol, IN. The role focuses on monthly closings, journal entries, cost and margin analyses, and audit support in a manufacturing environment.

You will collaborate closely with a small team, ensuring SOX compliance, accurate reporting, and actionable analytics using Excel, Power BI, SQL and OneStream. A 4+ year background with a Bachelor’s degree is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance with 4+ years of related experience.
  • Strong internal controls experience including SOX compliance.
  • Experience with ERP applications is a plus.
  • Proficient in Excel; knowledge of Power BI, SQL, and OneStream is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with monthly closing to ensure accurate statements.
  • Prepare and review month-end journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Collaborate to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages and analytics.
  • Support SOX compliance procedures and audits.
  • Assist with physical inventories.
  • Support cost and margin analyses and forecasting.

Ameri-Kart, a Myers Industries Company (NYSE: MYE), is one of the largest custom molding manufacturers in the United States. We are a full-service molder, focusing on recreational vehicles, marine, industrial, heavy truck and material handling markets. We manufacture a wide range of molded plastic products and complete product assembly to meet your specific design requirements.

Job Overview: This position is primarily responsible for the preparation and analysis of financial records, including journal entries, account reconciliations, cost and margin analyses, and audit support. The position is part of a small team of accountants and other finance personnel, collaborating to provide financial and accounting support to the business.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with monthly closing activities to ensure that financial statements and general ledgers are closed timely and accurately
  • Prepare & review various month end journal entries & reconciliations in accordance with policies and timelines
  • Collaborate with team members to streamline processes and improve efficiency
  • Assist with preparation of monthly & quarterly reporting packages and various operational analytics
  • Assist with fixed assets, standard costing, margin analysis, balance sheet & income statement analytics and forecasting
  • Assist with performance of various SOX compliance procedures
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Assist with physical inventories

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to analyze financial data, recognize errors and implement corrections
  • Superior written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of PC spreadsheets, word processing and database applications (Microsoft Excel, Power BI, SQL and OneStream preferred)
  • Overall comprehensive understanding of business processes, with manufacturing experience preferred
  • Highly motivated, self-starter with good analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance, with 4+ years of related experience
  • Strong background in an internal control environment including SOX compliance
  • Experience with ERP application a plus
  • Graduate Degree, CPA or CMA Preferred but not required
