Job summary

Watershed Foods in Bloomington, IL is seeking an experienced accounting professional to manage recording, tracking, and reporting of financial information for Watershed Foods and related entities. You will work with the VP of Finance on monthly reporting and support cost reduction projects and general accounting functions.

Qualifications

• Accounting degree with 3-5 years of professional experience.
• Strong organization and ability to multi-task on a daily basis.
• Excellent communication to manage relationships internally and externally.
• Analytical skills to monitor spreadsheets and systems for inventory, A/P, A/R, etc.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and information systems.
• CPA licensing and/or CMA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure ledger accuracy and reconcile subsidiary to general ledger.
• Maintain financial records and ensure proper transaction recording.
• Analyze costs, revenues, and obligations to forecast results.
• Prepare balance sheets and P&L for internal and external parties.
• Supervise and guide lower-level accountants when staffed.
• Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable aging.
• Weekly cash position modeling and reporting.
• Report and track inventory.
• Implement internal controls for integrity of financial reporting.

Job Summary:

This position has responsibility for the recording, tracking, and reporting all financial information for Watershed Foods and related entities. This position works closely with the VP of Finance to ensure that all information needed to complete the monthly financial reporting requirements are met. Any other cost reduction projects as well as general accounting functions fall under this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconcile subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger and resolves discrepancies.
• Maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded.
• Analyze current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.
• Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports for both internal and external parties.
• When staffed accordingly, supervise and guide lower-level accountants.
• Monitoring accounts receivable and accounts payable agings.
• Weekly cash position modeling and reporting.
• Reporting and tracking of inventory.
• Implementation of key internal controls for to assist in management decisions as well as integrity of financial reporting.
