Job summary

CFS in Bethesda, MD is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage month-end close, reconciliations, and financial analysis. This hybrid role combines in-office collaboration with three days remote, offering exposure to a mission-driven organization serving advanced education and scientific research.

You will work with Sage Intacct and Bill.com, oversee AP/AR, and contribute to decision-making with accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Sage Intacct and Bill.com experience is preferred.
• Non-profit experience is a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end and year-end close activities.
• Prepare account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Record and review journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Perform financial analysis and reporting to support business decisions.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Complete ad hoc tasks & projects as requested.
