Job summary

Baxter in Bellevue, WA seeks a Senior Accountant to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting. This hands-on role requires a meticulous, analytical, and organized professional to support the Bardy Diagnostics Business Unit.

You will collaborate with Finance Manager and cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and timely reporting. Responsibilities include monthly closings by the 2nd, general ledger maintenance, AP operations, journal entries, fixed asset tracking, and state tax filings.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of progressive operational accounting experience.
• Working knowledge of sales and use tax and local tax regulations; CPA designation is a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with Power BI and NetSuite ERP preferred.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and technical accounting principles.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present to various levels.

Responsibilities

• Ensure balances are accurate with proper documentation.
• Lead AP day-to-day operations: invoicing, vendor management, payments, inquiries.

• Maintain tax functions: tax administration, filings, state sales/use taxes.
• Analyze tax letters and perform research; handle ad hoc projects.

What You'll Be Doing

The Senior Accountant’s primary responsibility is to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the Company’s financial reporting. This position is a hands-on approach position and requires a person who is meticulous, analytical, and organized.

This is an onsite position (five days per week) based in Bellevue, Washington

You will assist the Finance Manager in completing the accounting functions of the Bardy Diagnostics Business Unit, including:

• Complete monthly closings by the 2nd day of each month.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts;
• Ensure balances are accurate and supported with proper documentation.
• Maintain the Company's system of accounts and internal controls pertaining to those accounts and financial transactions.
• Lead AP day-to-day operation: invoice processing, vendor management, payment execution, resolving inquiries, and ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Prepare and review of journal entries (accruals, prepaids, adjustments).
• Monitor fixed assets: track monthly acquisition, depreciation, and disposal. Ensuring proper accounting treatment.
• Maintain the business unit’s tax functions including tax administration and filings.
• Prepare state tax apportionment, monthly state sales and use taxes.
• Analyze tax letters and perform appropriate research to find a solution.
• Ad hoc projects as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

• 3-5+ years of progressive operational accounting experience, including hands-on work with journal entries, accounts payable review, and fixed asset accounting treatment.
• Tax Knowledge: Working knowledge of sales and use tax and local tax regulations; experience reviewing tax-related work is a plus.
• Systems & Data Management: Proven track record to handle large datasets and complex documents using Excel (advanced formulas preferred); Experience with Power BI is a plus; Familiarity with NetSuite ERP preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and technical accounting principles required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary. Ability to tailor and deliver messages at various levels within the organization.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Detail oriented with focus on complete documentation and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Education & Certification: BA/BS in Finance or Accounting preferred; CPA designation is a plus.

At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $80,000 -$110,000. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position is also eligible for discretionary bonuses.
