Job summary

Deep South Crane & Rigging is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team in Baton Rouge, LA.

Our corporate office is in Baton Rouge, LA with other offices located in Lake Charles, LA, Beaumont, TX, Houston, TX, Luling, LA, and Ashland, KY. This position will be located in the Corporate office in Baton Rouge, LA. Interested? APPLY NOW !

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports
• Support the Controller/Accounting Dept. with daily tasks
• Monitor job costs, equipment expenses, fuel usage, and project-related costs
• Review vendor invoices, billing, and customer invoicing for accuracy
• Work closely with operations and project management teams regarding job profitability and cost tracking
• Monitor cutting operations to ensure accuracy, edge quality, and minimal waste
• Assist during audits and provide requested financial documentation

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, but not required
• 3-5 years of accounting experience required
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting
• Experience in crane & rigging, heavy equipment, transportation, or industrial services strongly preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software systems
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Professional communication skills and ability to work with all levels of staff
