Job summary

YETI is seeking a Senior Accountant to join the global accounting team at its Austin headquarters. You will ensure accurate recording of North America revenue, support financial statements, and partner with cross-functional teams to optimize order-to-cash and revenue processes.

The role requires 5+ years of accounting experience, a CPA preferred, and strong US GAAP knowledge. SAP/BPC experience is highly valued in a major ERP environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience.
• CPA designation strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls.
• Experience with SAP/BPC; major ERP experience expected.
• Ability to exercise professional judgment on non-routine matters.

Responsibilities

• Perform month-end close: journal entries, reconciliations, reporting.
• Partner with sales, FP&A, accounts receivable and credit & collections.
• Apply ASC 606 guidance to revenue streams and contracts.
• Ensure discounts are properly reported in financial statements.
• Lead internal controls over revenue recognition and assist audits.
• Drive process improvements to scale with growth.
• Support ad-hoc reporting and analysis on sales and gross margin.

This position is responsible for the accurate and timely recording of YETI’s North America revenue. This individual will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of YETI’s financial statements and supporting the continued growth of the business.What You'll DoPerform month-end close responsibilities (journal entries, account reconciliations, reporting and analysis, etc.) including accounting for significant estimates (e.g. sales returns reserve, bad debt allowance, revenue cut-off)Partner cross-functionally with sales, FP&A, accounts receivable and credit & collections to ensure the order to cash processes are working effectively and efficientlyProvide insight to business teams and FP&A regarding the accounting impacts of business decisionsApply ASC 606 guidance to new revenue streams and changes to existing contracts and clearly document assessment & conclusionsResponsible for understanding agreed upon discounts provided to customers and ensuring discounts are properly reported in financial statementsPerform and document internal controls over revenue recognition process and proactively partner with Internal Audit and external auditors on control testing & substantive audit proceduresDrive process improvements that allow processes to scale with the growth of the companyLead and support business initiatives and finance projects, including performing user acceptance testing (UAT)Perform ad-hoc reporting & analysis on sales and gross marginWhat You BringBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance related field or equivalent experience5+ years of accounting experience2+ years of public accounting preferredCPA designation strongly preferredDemonstrated ability to exercise professional judgment in evaluating non-routine accounting matters and developing practical solutions.Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls requiredExperience with SAP/BPC preferred.
