Job summary

Fringe Insurance Benefits Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant to lead the finance and accounting team in internal and external reporting, monthly close entries, reconciliations, and various accounting operations.

The role involves coordinating with the COO/CFO and other departments, maintaining NetSuite reports, and ensuring adherence to GAAP. CPA certification is highly preferred, with travel <25% and a focus on team leadership and process improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.
• 7+ years of accounting experience is preferred.
• 5+ years of experience leading a team of accounting professionals is preferred.
• Travel is less than 25%.
• Physical ability to lift 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation and close of internal and external financial statements by gathering information from the general ledger and departments.
• Be a liaison to Client Services and Billing regarding inquiries and reporting.
• Respond to requests for client-specific reporting and initiate operating transactions in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with other departments on reporting and transactional items regularly.
• Act as a key leader, performing and supporting journal entries and reconciliations for monthly and year-end closes.
• Manage deposits, withdrawals, transfers, audits, and related reporting for corporate entities.
• Support Accounting Manager on ad-hoc requests and cross-train junior team members.
• Maintain and document processes; provide coverage to senior team members during bi-monthly cutoff.

The Senior Accountant is responsible for being lead support to the broader Finance and Accounting team related to internal and external financial reporting, monthly close entries and reconciliations, and other aspects of accounting operations such as daily bank transfers, bi-monthly cutoff processes, and customer reporting needs.The Senior Accountant will have extensive access to the Finance and Accounting team members and the COO/CFO, requiring excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.

• Accomplishes Accounting team and corporate mission by completing related results as needed, on a timely and accurate basis
• Lead preparation and close of internal and external financial statements for the broader organization by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and departments
• Be a liaison to Client Services and Billing as it relates to customer inquiries and reporting
• Respond to requests for client-specific reporting and initiating operating transactions in a timely manner

• Manage all aspects of the various corporate entities: deposits, withdrawals, transfers, audits, and related reporting
• Support Accounting Manager on all ad-hoc requests
• Cross-train junior team members on other Accounting functions to enable delegation of responsibilities on an ongoing basis

• Passion for learning the accounting processes and improving them.Recommend changes where appropriate that betters the team and organization
• Work closely with General Counsel/Chief Compliance Officer and members of the broader Accounting and Finance team on issues specifically related to accounts
• CPA certification/designation is highly preferred

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.
