Senior Accountant

This role is remote for AZ or TX residents only.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Oversee daily cash management activities.
  • Manage drawdowns from the Federal award system.
  • Responsible for all financial operations related to federal cost reimbursement grants.
  • Oversee expense management related to ORR grants and cooperative agreements, ensuring compliance and accuracy within Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) guidelines.
  • Complete journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Maintain and manage debt schedules, depreciation schedules, and related entries.
  • Ensure accuracy in operating and revenue leases and contracts.
  • Provide support for annual external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP accounting standards and federal regulations related to grants.
  • Support contracts and procurement processes.
  • Assist with tax planning and compliance for local, state, and federal tax obligations.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related business field required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional accounting experience required.
  • Direct experience working with ORR programs and federal cooperative agreements required.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be eligible to drive to facilitate program services as required.
