Job summary

Texas Education Agency is seeking an Accountability Policy Lead to guide policy analysis, manage data-driven accountability initiatives, and oversee annual updates to the accountability framework. The role partners with multiple teams to ensure transparent, rigorous accountability systems and effective communication with stakeholders.

You will supervise technical policy reviews, monitor legislative changes, and coordinate appeals and data submissions to support improved student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Experience: At least five (5) years of experience in public school accountability, performing research, evaluation, analysis, or policy development projects.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and data management tools.
• Strong planning and project management skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to break down and present complex information, ask questions, synthesize and analyze.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual updates to the accountability system manual and appendices, including policy communications.
• Provide policy research assistance and technical support to internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor legislative updates and translate into actionable insights for leadership.
• Manage the annual accountability appeals process and CCMR Working Collection submissions.
