Key Areas of Responsibility

This is a full-time Senior Account Handler role based in Manchester, with some flexibility for remote work. As a Senior Account Handler, you will manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring their insurance needs are met efficiently. You will collaborate with clients, insurers, and stakeholders, providing excellent customer service, strategising with account managers, and negotiating with insurers. You will also assist the new business team in identifying and securing new clients.

  • The primary purpose of this role is to advise clients and deliver excellent service, negotiating with them and the insurance market to meet their requirements.
  • Retain clients and seek opportunities to cross-sell additional coverages or address gaps by regularly reviewing client needs and available products.
  • Ensure continuous coverage relevance by conducting regular reviews of clients' needs.
  • Provide prompt and accurate responses to mid-term alterations requested by clients and offer claims guidance when appropriate.
  • Mentor and train Apprentice and Client Service Executives, conducting regular training reviews.
  • Support Client Managers to meet growth and retention targets by responding to requests for quotations, adjustments, and renewals, accurately gathering information and negotiating terms with insurers.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients, offering professional advice on their insurance needs.
  • Develop relationships with partner insurers to aid in business retention and growth.

The Person

  • Experience in the insurance industry, preferably in commercial insurance.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and priorities effectively.
  • Good organisational and administrative skills.
  • Cert CII or progress towards it is desirable.
  • Private Equity exposure would be advantageous.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, finance, or a related field is desirable.
