Position Summary
- Independently leads client strategy and service on the largest and most complex clients across the company, typically generating over $100k in annualized revenue. Clients are often self-funded, with 500+ enrolled employees.
- Creates multiple opportunities to engage and diagnose highly complex needs proactively, determining strategic direction to meet evolving client needs, and sells all of World’s services. Participates in industry events, conferences, and seminars, including speaking engagements on industry topics and best practices.
- Assigned book value is between $1.5M to $5M in EB revenue.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead clients through the development of multiyear strategic plans, including industry-leading solutions and program recommendations.
- Provide expertise on benefit plan design strategy, rate analysis, RFP process, carrier negotiations, and contract reviews.
- Present financial performance reports, benchmarks, and stewardship insights with actionable recommendations.
- Develop and lead carrier and vendor implementation project plans.
- Oversee development of communication materials for OE/Benefits and manage BenAdmin Technology where applicable.
- Develop and execute annual service plans, lead client touchpoints, manage key initiatives, and track open items, including compliance tasks like 5500 filings, Medicare Part D disclosures, HIPAA, ERISA, and COBRA.
- Engage clients to educate on market trends, carrier/vendor solutions, and World capabilities beyond daily service.
- Manage vendor/carrier performance and address escalated service issues.
- Finalize and deliver stewardship reports and messaging.
Work Experience & Skills
- Expertise in plan design (e.g., VBD, RBP, PBM), underwriting, funding, and third-party products beyond traditional insurance.
- Experience in carrier negotiations with large, complex clients.
- Strong executive presence, polished communication, and influencing skills.
- Project management skills around renewals, carrier implementations, open enrollment, and vendor onboarding.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, data analysis, and visualization tools.
- Knowledge of EB large market/self-funded analytics tools and models.
People Management
- Potentially acts as Team Lead for client service delivery colleagues.
- Acts as a mentor, demonstrates leadership, and may participate in hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
Licenses & Education
- Must hold a valid state life and health insurance license.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
Physical Demands
Office work primarily involves desk work with ergonomic equipment, occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds, and daily typing, grasping, and repetitive motions. Walking and standing are occasional.
