Job description

Senior Account Executive, Health – Edelman

We are in relentless pursuit of an equitable and inspiring workplace that is respectful of all, reflects and represents the world in which we live, and fosters trust, collaboration and belonging. Consistent with this approach, we hire the best qualified candidates for all positions.

Edelman Health is seeking a Senior Account Executive (SAE) to join our award‑winning healthcare team. This is a great opportunity for a smart, driven, and passionate public relations professional who’s ready to deepen their expertise in healthcare communications while contributing to work that makes a measurable business impact—not just media coverage.

As an SAE, you’ll collaborate with some of the most recognized healthcare brands in the world, helping them tell stories that matter through strategic, data‑informed communications across paid, earned, social, and owned channels.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the creation and execution of communications plans that align with healthcare and pharmaceutical client goals and business objectives
  • Manage projects from inception through delivery—including milestone communications, data announcements, and consumer‑facing campaigns—with attention to budget, timelines, and cross‑functional coordination
  • Lead the development of communications content involving technical/medical data (e.g., clinical study results, product safety language) and translate it into compelling narratives for target audiences
  • Serve as a day‑to‑day client contact, supporting calls and correspondence with confidence and professionalism
  • Collaborate across internal and external teams to ensure alignment and timely execution
  • Support and coach junior team members, helping to build their skills and contributions
  • Participate in media outreach and engagement efforts across traditional, digital, and social channels
  • Contribute to new business efforts through idea generation, research, and proposal development
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and external partners
  • Demonstrate Edelman’s values through ethical and inclusive behaviors and a commitment to continuous learning
Basic Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in public relations, communications, media, or related fields such as research, advertising, consulting, or publishing
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and effectively
  • Experience developing communication plans and executing public relations tactics
  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities with keen attention to detail
  • Team‑oriented mindset with a proactive, can‑do attitude
  • Prior experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical communications, particularly related to professional (HCP) audiences
  • Comfort working with medical language, clinical trial data, and regulatory/legal review processes
  • Experience with media outreach and understanding of integrated media strategies
  • Confidence in leading client‑facing interactions and working with cross‑functional teams
  • Interest in surgical innovation, data‑driven storytelling, and complex health narratives
  • Ability to mentor junior staff

$60,000 - $80,000 a year

An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue‑based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region‑specific benefits.

DJEH offers a wide range of benefits: medical and dental insurance, vision, 401(k), life insurance, disability insurance, paid time off, travel assistance and wellness programming.

DJEH is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and believes in diversity, equity, and inclusion. We seek applications from all qualified candidates without regard to race, color, gender, sex, age, religion, physical or mental disability, military and veteran status, or any other basis protected by federal, state or local law.
