Baruch College, a selective urban public college within CUNY, seeks a Senior Academic Advisor to deliver holistic, integrated advising that supports undergraduate progress, personal development, and career readiness.

Working in the Office of Undergraduate Advisement, you will collaborate with faculty, student services, and career services to guide degree planning, pathways, internships, and post-graduate goals, documenting interactions and tracking progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and four years' related experience required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience in advising, academic counseling, career counseling and/or student success initiatives.
• Familiarity with student management systems such as Navigate 360, CUNYfirst, DegreeWorks.
• Strong communication skills; ability to explain complex information clearly and respectfully.
• Knowledge of higher education policies, procedures, and student support resources.

Responsibilities

• Conduct holistic, integrated advisement for undergraduate students, addressing academic, personal, and career barriers.
• Provide clear guidance on degree requirements, policies, and registration processes.
• Incorporate career readiness advice, including internships and post-graduation planning.
• Coordinate referrals with academic departments and student/career services.
• Document advising interactions and track student progress to ensure timely resolution.
