The Office of the Colorado Attorney General in Denver seeks an Assistant Attorney General for the Corrections unit to represent the State in civil rights and constitutional litigation in state and federal court. Qualifications

• At least five years of legal experience.
• Strong legal research and writing skills, including some experience drafting and filing briefs in federal court.
• Prior experience as a state or federal judicial law clerk is a plus.
• Interest in 42 U.S.C. § 1983 cases and constitutional law is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Litigate federal civil rights claims against law enforcement personnel.
• Handle habeas petitions, civil appeals, and advisory matters for state agencies.
• Provide legal advice on policy issues and open records requests.
• Manage own federal and state cases from pleading through trial and appeal.
