Job summary

Qualcomm Government Technologies (QGOV) seeks an experienced 5G cellular systems engineer to architect solutions that integrate Qualcomm System on Chip processors for U.S. Government applications.

You will apply strong 5G NR PHY/MAC/RLC/PDCP knowledge, RF principles, and communications theory to design modem architectures and run simulations to evaluate link budgets and performance. Experience in embedded modem firmware and cross-functional collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for a U.S. Government security clearance
• BSEE or BSCS with focus in Cellular/Wireless Communication Systems, 5+ years’ experience
• MS/MSEE or PhD with focus in Cellular/Wireless Communication Systems, 8+ years of experience
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience
• OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience
• OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience

Responsibilities

• Architect solutions incorporating Qualcomm SoC processors into U.S. Government applications
• Run simulations to determine link budgets, performance, and tradeoffs (using Matlab and other tools)
• Develop embedded modem firmware/software
• Produce system design documentation and tradeoff analyses
• Navigate 3GPP standards to optimize modem architecture vs implementation
