Confidential Employer in Scotts Valley, CA is seeking a Senior CNC Machinist to set up and run 3–5 axis milling, producing tight-tolerance aerospace components. You will interpret drawings with GD&T, optimize processes, and mentor junior machinists in a fast-paced, AS9100/ITAR-regulated shop.

Day shift, on-site role with overtime as needed. Expect $33.37–$56.73 per hour DOE, with comprehensive benefits and long-term career growth in a global manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of CNC machining experience.
• Experience with 3–5 axis CNC milling.
• Strong G-code and machining strategy knowledge.
• Deep understanding of GD&T and blueprint interpretation.
• Experience in aerospace, AS9100/ITAR/NADCAP environments.
• Ability to mentor junior machinists.

Responsibilities

• Set up and optimize new and repeat jobs on 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC milling machines
• Machine complex components requiring tight tolerances and high precision
• Interpret detailed engineering drawings and apply GD&T principles
• Troubleshoot machining issues and implement process improvements
• Monitor production to ensure quality and consistency
• Collaborate with engineering teams on tooling and process optimization
• Ensure compliance with AS9100, ITAR, and internal quality standards
• Mentor junior machinists and support team development
