About the Role

We are seeking a Senior 3D Character Modeller & Rigger to join our cinematics team. This unique role combines the artistry of high-end modeling with the technical expertise of rigging and skinning. You will be responsible for creating realistic, film-quality characters and props, then preparing them for animation through custom rigs, deformations, and performance-ready setups. Your work will directly support our animation and motion-capture pipelines for game cinematics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Modeling
    • Create realistic, high-resolution characters, costumes, and props for cinematic sequences.
    • Deliver clean topology optimized for deformation and rigging.
    • Build detailed UVs and prepare assets for texturing/look-dev.
  • Rigging
    • Design and implement efficient, animator-friendly character rigs, including facial and body systems.
    • Perform skinning and weight painting for natural deformations.
    • Develop corrective blendshapes and secondary motion setups for realism.
    • Collaborate with animators to ensure rigs meet cinematic storytelling needs.
  • Pipeline & Collaboration
    • Work closely with animation, mocap, and VFX teams to ensure seamless integration.
    • Support troubleshooting of rigs during production.
    • Contribute to pipeline tools and rigging standards in collaboration with technical directors.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of professional experience in film, AAA game cinematics, or animation studios.
  • Strong portfolio showing realistic character models and working rigs.
  • Expert in Maya (modeling + rigging toolset).
  • Proficient in ZBrush (sculpting), Substance Painter/Designer (texturing prep).
  • Deep knowledge of rigging fundamentals (IK/FK systems, deformation, constraints).
  • Experience with weight painting, blendshapes, and corrective sculpting.
  • Understanding of anatomy, facial topology, and deformation principles.
