Job summary

Side is seeking an experienced Senior 3D / Environment Artist to craft game-ready assets and modular kits for a stylized-realistic direction. You will interpret concept art, deliver polished environment models and hero props, and ensure tight geometry and high-quality materials for UE5 pipelines.

This short-term contract role focuses on project-based opportunities and may be amended or withdrawn as client needs change.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Senior 3D artist within a AAA environment creating game-ready assets.
• Proven experience creating high-quality environment art for games (Hero Props or Architectural/Modular Kits).
• Strong understanding of modeling, texturing, UV workflows, and PBR material creation.
• Ability to interpret concept art and balance artistic fidelity with technical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Create environment models, architectural kits, and hero props from concept to final presentation.
• Ensure clean geometry, optimized topology, and high-quality materials with Unreal Engine 5 integration.
• Interpret concept art and make thoughtful artistic decisions when details are undefined.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior 3D / Environment Artist to create high-quality, game-ready assets and/or modular kits that meet the visual and technical standards of a AAA development pipeline. This is not a world building job.

In this role, you will interpret concept art, apply strong artistic judgment, and deliver polished assets that align with a stylized-realistic visual direction. You will be responsible for producing environment models, architectural kits, and hero props from concept through to final presentation, ensuring clean geometry, optimized topology, high-quality materials, and Unreal Engine 5 integration. This opportunity is ideal for artists who combine strong craftsmanship with practical production thinking and can balance artistic fidelity with technical excellence.

This role is available on a short-term contract basis only. As these are project-based opportunities, positions may be amended, postponed, or withdrawn as a result of changing client requirements and project priorities.

Requirements

• Experience as a Senior 3D artist within a AAA environment creating game-ready assets
• Proven experience creating high-quality environment art for games, either Hero Props or Architectural/Modular Kits
• Strong understanding of modeling, texturing, UV workflows, and PBR material creation.
• Experience with industry-standard tools such as Maya, 3ds Max, ZBrush, Substance Painter, and Unreal Engine 5.
• Ability to interpret concept art while making thoughtful artistic decisions when details are undefined.
• A keen eye for silhouette, form, material definition, and visual storytelling.
• Excellent production judgment and the ability to deliver clean, efficient, game-ready assets.
