Whatnot is seeking an Art Director, 2D Illustration, to join the Brand Experience team. You will shape visual strategy, lead creative execution, and collaborate across design, product, engineers, and marketing. A hands-on generalist with strong craft can thrive in our fast-paced, ambidextrous environment.

You will work with tools like Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and AI workflows to push Whatnot’s visual identity forward while keeping production quality high and timelines tight.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience across brand, campaign, or creative studio work.
• Portfolio shows strong visual thinking and hands-on execution.
• Ability to communicate actionable feedback and lead creative work from start to finish.

Responsibilities

• Develop visual strategies, art direction, and creative assets for multiple surfaces.
• Collaborate across design, product, marketing, and engineers from brief to delivery.
• Move quickly from briefs to execution, trimming scope while maintaining high craft.
• Maintain moodboards and sketches to create bespoke, production-ready assets.
• Provide clear, actionable feedback to keep the team aligned and motivated.
• Lead projects end-to-end with a strong point of view on art direction.
