Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking a technically strong Tool Install Engineer with expertise in instrumentation, controls, and electrical systems to support semiconductor tool installation projects.

You will lead design reviews, installation planning, commissioning, and system integration in advanced manufacturing environments. You will coordinate across engineering, construction, vendors, and field teams to ensure safe, efficient installation and commissioning, while aligning with project

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering or Instrumentation Engineering.
• 5+ years supporting instrumentation, controls, electrical systems, tool installation, or industrial project execution.
• Strong knowledge of control systems (PLCs, SCADA, DCS) and system integration.
• Experience reviewing electrical/instrumentation docs (SLDs, wiring diagrams, loop drawings, specs).

Responsibilities

• Lead technical review and coordination of instrumentation, controls, and electrical scopes for tool installation projects.
• Review engineering work: control system architectures, diagrams, panel schedules, and equipment layouts for quality and compliance.
• Evaluate designs for constructability, maintainability, safety, and installation readiness.
• Coordinate with design firms, contractors, OEMs, and vendors to resolve issues, RFIs, submittals, and field challenges.
• Provide technical expertise for PLCs, SCADA, DCS, instrumentation, control panels, and power distribution systems.
• Support field engineering activities: inspections, commissioning, startup, and system turnover.
• Apply BIM/coordination tools (Revit, Navisworks) for clash detection and routing validation.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks related to integration, safety, and schedule.
