Job summary

GlobalFoundries U.S. INC. offers an internship program within the Technology Architecture and Competitiveness Structural Analysis team.

You will engage in reverse engineering, design migration, and technology definition optimization, collaborating with design, tear-down, and lab groups to derive actionable technical insights and enhance workflows. You’ll contribute to data-driven technology and market assessments, while developing scripts and AI-enabled tools to boost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Sophomore year at application time; pursuing a Bachelor’s in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 3.0 GPA and good academic standing
• English language proficiency required (written & verbal)
• Willingness to commit to at least 40 hours per week during the internship

Responsibilities

• Conduct reverse engineering analyses and structured investigations of semiconductor technologies with coordination of sample prep, data collection, and analysis with Tear Down and lab teams
• Organize and interpret structural, layout, and technology findings; document methods and results; prepare reports and presentations
• Support design teams by applying design migration and layout-analysis tools to evaluate technology options and identify optimization opportunities
• Develop or improve scripts and repeatable workflows, including Python and AI-enabled techniques, to increase efficiency and traceability
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering partners to review results, resolve data gaps, and communicate project status and risks
